Pantone Releases ColorWeb Pro Beta for OS X

Full version available in the fall By Dave Nagel
Pantone today announced support for Mac OS X. The company has released a beta of ColorWeb Pro 2.0, supporting 147 colors of the Pantone Matching System. The full version is expected to be released in the fall.

"We worked closely with Apple in building a new generation of color selection tools specifically engineered for, and integrated directly into, OS X at the system level," said Richard Herbert, president of Pantone, in a prepared statement. "The Mac OS X is a revolutionary platform that empowers design professionals, and we are excited to have the opportunity to be the first to deliver expanded color selection tools for it."

The beta release of ColorWeb Pro 2.0 for OS X will be available for a limited time as a free download from the Pantone Web site. The full version of ColorWeb Pro 2.0 for Mac OS X will be available in fall 2001 and will include support for the entire 1,114 PMS colors. For more information, visit http://www.pantone.com/apple.
