Pantone Develops ColorWeb Pro for Mac OS X

(July 18, 2001)
Pantone, Inc announced at MacWorld Conference & Expo its support for Apple's Mac OS X. Pantone has released a beta version of PANTONE ColorWeb Pro that offers system-level support that takes advantage of the new architecture and features of Mac OS X.

ColorWeb Pro provides Web authors and others the RGB values for the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM, the international standard for color communication.

The beta version and the upcoming release of PANTONE ColorWeb Pro 2.0 underscore Pantone's ongoing commitment to the design community to deliver color solutions for print and Web media. The beta release is limited to supporting the 147 new colors of the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM introduced last year. The new colors are the result of years of research, and reflect input from design and print professionals, as well as color trends. The beta release of ColorWeb Pro for OS X will be available for a limited time as a free download from the Pantone Web site:

The full version of PANTONE ColorWeb Pro 2.0 for Mac OS X will be available in fall 2001 and will include support for the entire 1,114 PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM Colors.
