Pantone Debuts ColorVantage SystemInks, papers and printer profiles included in lineup
The ColorVantage System includes new ColorVantage inks, which Pantone says offer a wider gamut than OEM inks and produce richer and more saturated hues for more accurate color. The ColorVantage papers, according to Pantone, provide a better white point and more accurate color reproduction than standard papers when used with ColorVantage inks. They come in several finishes, including high-gloss photo, semi-matte proofing, matte and fine art. The ColorVantage profiles are included with the ColorVantage Starter Kit and are custom-designed for use with ColorVantage inks and papers.
Pantone's ColorVantage system is compatible with Epson wide-format printer models, including the 1270, 1280, 5000, 5500, 7000, 7500, 9000 and 9500, as well as compatible models from Mimaki, Mutoh and Roland. Prices vary based on the specific printer, but Pantone says the inks are priced 10 percent to 15 percent below OEM prices.
