Panasonic Ships 17-inch SD/HD 16:9 Video Monitor(November 20, 2001)
According to the company, the monitor displays more than 800 lines of resolution, and is targeted at installations that require a compact DTV monitor with high-image quality and easy operation. With its input modules, the BT-H1700 can display ATSC, standard-definition and high-definition signals, including 1080/24-fps, in their native resolution. The unit is both NTSC and PAL-capable, works on either 110 or 230 volts, and is UL compliant.
The BT-H1700 provides three card slots that can accommodate up to three input modules, including composite video or Y/C, analog component RGB, SD-SDI and HD-SDI. By selecting various card combinations, the monitor can be configured for a wide variety of applications ranging from NTSC composite to standard 601 to true HD installations.
The optional 19 rack mount facilitates operation in mobile vehicles, quality-control stations in equipment rooms, nonlinear edit monitoring as well as preview monitoring with NTSC, SD or HD routing systems.
Front-panel controls allow for quick, convenient set-up and operation with push-button selection of the various inputs. The on-screen, easy-to-operate menu provides for fast access to the monitors range of functions including aspect-ratio selection, color temperature settings and white balance adjustment. In addition, the BT-H1700 features a built-in speaker, remote control for tally lamp, Input Select, Color Off, Area Marker, Aspect Changeover and Underscan, all through RS-232C and GPI/F.
The BT-H1700 has a suggested list price of $3,475. Suggested list prices of the input cards, necessary for monitor operation, are BT-YA701 composite analog, $325; BT-YA702 component analog, $275; BT-YA703 SD-SDI, $660; and BT-YA704 HD-SDI, $5,345.
