Panasonic PT-D9500U DLP Projector Used for Hawaii Tourism Movie Premiere(July 25, 2001)
The premiere was part of a one-day special event sponsored by Hawaii’s Visitors and Convention Bureau to support Team Hawaii’s efforts in the Fifth Annual Liberty World Challenge, an international six-man canoe competition.
The PT-D9500U delivers a stunning brightness of more than 10,000 ANSI lumens, a greater than 450:1 contrast ratio and 1024 x 768 XGA resolution.
The Hawaii event was produced by Ace Video (New York, NY), specialists in video projection. Ace Video president Michael Temmer, who also served as the event’s producer, said, “The PT-D9500U was fantastic--the image was bright and the contrast range was excellent. Both the filmmaker Edgy Lee and the South Street Seaport staff were delighted with the results.
“The projector fully addressed our need for a high-intensity DLP projector with excellent color rendition and good contrast range. For the premiere, the projector was outfitted with a long focal length zoom to get a 12’ x 16’ image at an approximate distance of 80 feet.”
Anthony Cozzi, Ace Video’s Rental Manager and Project Manager for this event, said, “This projector has enormous potential in the New York City rental market.”
Panasonic offers a family of high-brightness, high-contrast DLP projection systems that includes, in addition to the PT-D9500U, the PT-D9610U (1000:1 contrast, 12000 lumens, SXGA), PT-D9600U (12000 lumens, SXGA), PT-D8600U (7000 lumens, SXGA) and PT-D8500U (7000 lumens, XGA).
