ExpoJam! with the Brian Setzer Orchestra: 8:00-10:00pm at the Stardust Hotel (pavilion), Wednesday, March 15. ?Like pouring gasoline on a fire is how Brian Setzer describes his 1998 double-platinum GRAMMY-winning and Billboard Top 10 ?The Dirty Boogie. Now, some eight years later, the success of the true, 17-piece big band fronted by an electric guitar is simple suggests Setzer. ?This isnt like punk rock, where anyone could pick up a guitar and play loud. The level of musicianship required is pretty high. What made it (success) happen is that were original, Setzer says. ?This is American music, its ingrained in us but we took it in a new direction. Sponsored by Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, co-sponsored by Shure, Inc.
Consultant's Reception: 5:30-7:00pm in the Consultant's Lounge at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Thursday, March 16. Wear your best Hawaiian shirt (as they will be judged), relax under the palm trees or join in with the band. This years' interactive entertainment features an eclectic mix of musicians who have toured with the likes of Cinderella, Don Henley, Skid Row, Los Lobos, Bryan Adams, and Bon Jovi just to name a few. The band will take the stage around 7:15 pm , but come early and enjoy complimentary refreshments and the beach scenery before we bring down the house with hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
EST Reception: 7:00-8:00pm at the Beach (RSVP Required), Friday, March 17 (St Patrick's Day!), Not everyone passes the C-SI or C-EST exams, so for those who do, it is a significant milestone. NSCA also announced the agenda for the NSCA Fall Business Conference, October 26-28, 2006, at the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort at Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach, SC. Designed for business owners and managers in the commercial electronic systems industry, this two-and-half-day conference offers practical tactics for growth through its two specially tailored Executive and Management tracks of seminars. Course topics range from visionary business strategies to day-to-day management tactics.
?The Fall Business Conference has always offered upper-level seminars and training, explained Brad Nelson, NSCA board member and President of Sound Solutions Northwest, Inc. ?You won't find any entry-level courses at Fall Business Conference, as it is targeted toward the owners, general managers and upper-level management at a systems integration firm.
Kicking off the top-tier training this fall will be keynote speaker Pat Richie, Founder and President of the Sports Leadership Group. The only individual commissioned by author Patrick Lencioni to speak about the New York Times best-seller, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, Richie has more than 20 years experience teaching the subjects of leadership, ethics and business to team owners, corporate presidents, national broadcasters, star athletes and college educators. Richies understanding of the team dynamic proved successful during his tenure with the San Francisco 49ers, which resulted in three Super Bowl Rings.
Those interested in attending this years NSCA Fall Business Conference should visit the NSCA Zone at the Systems Integration Expo March 16-18, 2006 for a chance to win a free conference admission.
