Pacific Soundwaves Brings Audio Post Expertise to BurbankCompany builds world-class studios in former Enterprise Recording building (December 08, 2005)
Pacific Soundwaves recently re-launched its growing audio post business, building out a brand new 11,000 square foot sound facility in Burbank complete with cutting-edge studios and sound stages. The 9-year old company now occupies the historic former Enterprise Recording building at 4620 W. Magnolia in Burbank, having expanded beyond the capacity of its former Studio City location.
Equipped with the latest technology for sound mixing and editing, audio sweetening, sound effects prelay, and dialog editing, Pacific Soundwaves new facility offers world-class audio post. It features three television mix stages, a feature film mixing stage, Foley stage, large ADR stages, on-site print mastering, and beautiful new client rooms. ?Studio A, highly sought-after for film mixing, is Dolby tuned and certified, equipped with digital projection, and is the first dubbing stage in the world to house two Digidesign ICON D-Command consoles. Studios C, E and F feature both ProTools Accel HD and Fairlight MXF3+ workstations.
In addition to providing technical and creative expertise and a range of sound-post production services for its own clients, Pacific Soundwaves also opens its doors to mixers and partner audio post companies who can rent time in their top-of-the-line studios. The well appointed facility has attracted the audio mixing team of Chris Elam and Chris Haire (Star Trek Enterprise), who now call Pacific Soundwaves home. Top television shows including Crossing Jordan, Kitchen Confidential, Ghost Whisperer, Las Vegas, and One on One also do their Foley work on Pacific Soundwaves stages.
Pacific Soundwaves owner and mixer, Stephen Clark, said, ?For the past few years, our clients demand for feature audio finishing has really taken off, and that has allowed us to grow and totally re-launch the company. Here in our new facility we have larger stages, higher-end systems, and everything required for film and TV finishing. We also wanted to preserve the creative atmosphere that has always defined the company, and the Enterprise Recording building fit the bill perfectly. It already had such great buildouts we just coupled it with the technology, interior design, and amenities that give our clients the best of all worlds.
Michael Manheim, producer of the film ?Ten ?Til Noon, which was mixed at Pacific Soundwaves, noted, ?It was great to be able to work on a big sound stage and do our Foley right in the next room. The facility is fantastic, and throughout the whole experience of working with Pacific Soundwaves it was clear that they really understand how to work within the parameters of independent filmmakers.
