Pacific Image Intros 3,600 DPI Film Scanner

Model includes FireWire connectivity, 3.4 dynamic range By Dave Nagel
Pacific Image Electronics has introduced the PrimeFilm 3600PRO, a scanner that offers 3,600 DPI optical resolution. The new model is targeted at the professional graphics market, with a dynamic range of 3.4, brightness ranging from 0.0 to 4.0.

The new scanner is equipped with an automatic film loader that takes filmstrips or uncut roll films without having to use film holders. It includes both FireWire and USB interfaces and is compatible with Adobe Photoshop and other editors on Macintosh and Windows systems.


The unit weighs 4.85 pounds and measures 9.37" x 4.05" x 6.97". It includes TWAIn support for Windows and a plugin for the Macintosh. It will be available for $499. No word yet on the actual ship date.
