PROMISE Unveils All-New VTrak x30 Series to Deliver Unparalleled High-Performance Storage to AV, Media & Post Production Pros

Mac OS X Qualified RAID Storage Showcased at NAB, April 11-14 (April 11, 2011)

MILPITAS, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/11/11 -- PROMISE Technology Inc., a leading supplier of versatile RAID storage solutions catering to customers from enterprise to consumer, announced availability of the VTrak® x30 Series, a qualified storage solution for Apple's Mac OS X. This new addition to the PROMISE family of high-performance storage solutions, the x30 features 8G FC ports, providing up to 2.5x the video streaming performance over the previous generation VTrak series and up to a 4x increase in raw performance.

The x30 Series leverages Intel Xeon C3500 processors and is fully tested with Mac OS X, Xsan and Final Cut Studio for the ultimate in post production technology solutions. For the entry to mid-range markets looking to gain an edge, the VTrak x30 Series is the perfect solution when balancing performance, scalability, capacity and reliability to provide enterprise-class features at an entry-level price point.

"The x30 Series is the culmination of over two decades of RAID experience and delivers incredible performance, reliability and expandability to the AV and media & entertainment professional."

Customers Praise Performance, Availability and Speed
"The Atmospheric Imaging Assembly imposed novel requirements on the data processing and distribution we use to improve our understanding of the physics behind the activity displayed by the Sun's atmosphere," said Dr. Neal Hurlburt, from the Lockheed Martin Solar and Astrophysics Laboratory, NASA. "The enhanced bandwidth of the new PROMISE systems at a lower effective price point makes our transactions of the sun's atmosphere both manageable and affordable. It dropped right into our existing SAN based on the previous generation."

"PROMISE has provided us a comprehensive solution with unmatched performance, availability and speed for our massive archival project," said Matt Winston, co-founder, Stan Winston School of Character Arts. "We have implemented VTrak x30s into the heart of our workflow, allowing us to expand our capability as a virtual school, while simultaneously giving us a robust and secure solution for our priceless film archives."

"We have trusted PROMISE for years as our provider of high end storage, so when the new x30 series was announced, it was a very easy decision for us to upgrade," said Marc Zeltzer, director of technology, Oasis Imagery. "We can trust that PROMISE delivers the high-quality performance and stability that our clients demand in the most advanced 2D and 3D stereoscopic workflows."
