PNY Debuts MHL(TM) Adapter for Smartphones

Designed for Use With Latest MHL Enabled Smartphones & Tablets (January 11, 2012)

LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 01/11/12 -- PNY Technologies®, Inc. ("PNY") today announced a new MHL™ (Mobile High-Definition Link) Adapter. Connecting via the micro USB output on a MHL enabled smartphone or tablet, PNY's MHL adapter converts to an HDMI audio and video output, providing connection to an external HD monitor or HDTV. The adapter also features a side micro USB port for simultaneously connecting the device charger.

This latest adapter from PNY allows for MHL enabled smartphones and tablets to output HD video and digital audio to an HDTV for a full 1080p experience. PNY's MHL Adapter was designed with a compact and flexible design for increased range of motion while connected to a device. Users can now watch movies, play games, or view photos on a larger screen directly from their device while holding a charge.

The sleek design perfectly complements PNY's Smart Active High Speed HDMI Cable. With up to 16 feet of cable, the length enables comfortable viewing from a distance. And with a slender design that is 70% thinner than standard cables and a built-in chip that delivers active signal control for 10.2Gbps, PNY's Smart Active Cable offers supreme performance in a svelte design.

PNY's MHL Adapter and Smart Active HDMI Cable work seamlessly together to deliver flawless HD video and audio to an HDTV -- all in one simple connection.

"As major device manufacturers, such as Samsung and HTC, have transitioned to using MHL technology, there is definitely a need in the market for our newest adapter," said Nicholas Mauro, senior marketing manager, PC components for PNY. "PNY's new MHL adapter enables users to take full advantage of the MHL connection on their latest smartphone or tablet. Consumers can truly see the potential of their device by viewing digital content on a much larger screen, while holding their devices charge."
