PLUS Vision Spiffs Up Web Marketing With Interactive 3D

Projector manufacturers starting to adopt 3D viewing By Denise Harrison
PLUS Vision is using interactive 3D images from Kaon Interactive to market their products via the web, according to an announcement by Kaon today. Several of its products, including the Traveler CS-11 and V-807, are now viewable in 3D with zoom, rotate, etc.

While the image of the product is initially quite fuzzy, it clears up upon zoom-in, and the benefits of this presentation far outweigh the poor photo quality, which will no doubt improve over time.

While 3D interactive technology has been around for a couple of years, it's taken time for manufacturers and marketers to adopt it. But now it's time, for once purchasers and integrators become accustomed to seeing all the sides of a projector -- the inputs, the placements of features, the proportional size -- it might just become a customer demand.

InFocus also has a nice interactive tour using a QuickTime technology, although we couldn't figure out how to rotate it vertically, and Sony has the ability to view the back sides.
