PESA's Newly Acquired Fortel DTV Product Line Now Offered on GSA Contract

Extends reach in audio and video management of high-end mission-sensitive distribution products (March 30, 2006)

Following the recent acquisition of Fortel DTV by PESA's parent company, QuStream Corporation, Fortel's portfolio of audio and video signal conversion and synchronization products have been integrated into the PESA Switching Systems product line and are now included as products under PESA GSA contract number GS-03F-4068B.

PESA has a long history of serving government audio and video signal processing needs. In 2002, the company supplied the government with approximately $4 million in signal switching equipment that was vital to the military in the defense of the nation. GSA acknowledged PESA's contribution to the success of the GSA's contracting endeavors, specifically for their contributions to the Section 58 Part I Multiple Award Schedule over the course of their contract.

Well known in the United States as the quality standard for signal processing, Fortel DTV boasts five patents with a combined 138 claims with two more patents filed and pending. Fortel's patented video technology has been recognized as best in breed and, through a relationship with a semiconductor integrated circuit manufacturer, it has found its way into a number of "System on Chip" ASIC implementations designed for home computers and appliances. Fortel DTV currently markets its products to targeted broadcast stations, cable and satellite facilities, and production studios through an international network of distributors and system integrators.

"With the addition of Fortel DTV signal processing products, PESA extends its reach in audio and video management of high-end mission-sensitive distribution products," said Bob McAlpine, PESA's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "We appreciate our government customers and will continue providing the best-of-breed products through our GSA contract."
