Only 9 Percent of Organizations Are Aware of the Devices Accessing Their Corporate DataBradford Networks, MobileIron and HP Join SANS to Discuss SANS Mobile Security Survey Results (April 09, 2012)
CAMBRIDGE, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/09/12 -- Bradford Networks, the best choice to enable secure network access for corporate issued and personal mobile devices, today announced that CMO Tom Murphy will participate on an April 12 webinar panel with SANS, HP and MobileIron. The panel will examine the results of SANS' "First Annual Mobile Security Survey," offering insights and best practices on how to effectively manage Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) risk and compliance.
"With the onslaught of mobile devices in the enterprise, the intent of this survey was to determine how organizations are currently handling the risks associated with a Bring Your Own Device Security policy," said Kevin Johnson, senior SANS analyst and survey author. "We were shocked to find that while more than 60 percent of organizations allow their employees to bring their own devices, only 9 percent felt they were fully aware of the devices accessing corporate data. We decided to conduct this webinar to help the large number or organizations that continue to struggle with BYOD."
Presented by the SANS Analyst Program, this webinar will feature executives from Bradford Networks, HP and MobileIron who will unveil the complete results of the First Annual SANS Mobility Security Survey and examine the current state of BYOD in today's enterprise. Panelist Tom Murphy will discuss the importance of network visibility and explain the role of network access control (NAC) in building a secure BYOD policy.
"The survey results proved what we have suspected all along -- organizations are not prepared for the proliferation of mobile devices across the enterprise," said Tom Murphy, CMO of Bradford Networks. "Businesses need to balance the productivity gains of BYOD with the very real concerns around protecting sensitive data. This starts by gaining visibility into all the devices that are accessing the network. I'm excited to join this esteemed panel and address the major security issues that organizations face when implementing BYOD by sharing Bradford's real world experiences."
The webinar will take place Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 1:00 PM EDT. To register for the webinar and to receive a copy of the white paper, please visit:
