One Companys Bet on Geothermal Energy; Special Report by Leading Financial Web Site Penny Stock Detectives(June 18, 2012)
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 18, 2012
In a recent Penny Stock Detectives article, editor Sasha Cekerevac argues that with the increasing scrutiny of environmental damage and high costs associated with traditional fossil fuels for electricity generation, the next big wave will be in the field of green energy power. Cekerevac believes one exciting company that develops geothermal resources, primarily in the western part of America, will then emerge as a leader in geothermal energy productionU.S. Geothermal.
U.S. Geothermals business model is to generate and sell electricity from geothermal sources, notes Cekerevac.
U.S. Geothermal, however, relies on government loans to fund the construction of its power plants. The firm recently announced that one of its properties located in Oregon is approximately 90% completed. U.S. Geothermal estimates full commercial production of this 22-megawatt power plant to begin by the end of 2012.
The stock has pulled back considerably from the highs reached in February. Market sentiment appears to still be negative, but there are outbursts of positivity, observes Cekerevac.
If the company can get its Oregon power plant online and operational, it can start generating the type of cash flow that potential investors look for.
While many investors might overlook green energy because of the recent low price of natural gas, Cekerevac believes an investor should be careful of this market sentiment, looking out over the next decade.
While low natural gas prices are great right now, as more power plants and engines are built designed to run on natural gas, the price of this commodity will rise, comments Cekerevac.
At that point, we will be back at square one, and investors will once again be asking: what alternative energy source is there other than fossil fuels? At that point, investors will again shift their market sentiment back to green energy. If companies like U.S. Geothermal can establish their place right now in the marketplace as leaders in green energy, they can secure a strong future, concludes Cekerevac. Of course, these are still early days in this new green energy industry and many hurdles still remain.
