On2 Technologies Chosen by NPSL

On2 Technologies, The Duck Corporation and the National Professional Soccer League announced today that a 150-minute indoor soccer game has been encoded in On2's VP4 technology.

"The fast-paced, end-to-end action of the NPSL made it an ideal test for VP4's capabilities," stated Douglas McIntyre, On2 Technologies President and CEO. "On2 is thrilled to be the NPSL's partner for this historic webcast, which provides the League with unrivaled web-based video."

The 10-team NPSL, which features players from around the world, concluded its 17th consecutive season in 2000-2001, and achieved attendance figures of over one million people.

"The NPSL is excited to offer another innovative service to our fans and a cutting-edge technology, which provides the League with an additional way to market our exciting product," NPSL Commissioner Steve Ryan stated. "We are very proud to have the opportunity to work with an industry leader with the stature of On2 and are excited about the continuing development of this relationship."
