OmniBus and Miranda Provide Management for AutomationPresmaster Enhanced Device Helps Bring Secondary Event Sequences to Air Smoothly (April 18, 2005)
OmniBus Systems and Miranda Technologies today announced the availability of enhanced automation control of the Miranda Presmaster 2 master control switcher and Imagestore channel branding graphics processors by OmniBus' multichannel automation solutions, including its Colossus automation suite. The enhanced coordination of leading automation and graphics systems delivered by the Presmaster Enhanced Device Service allows broadcasters to bring sophisticated and complex secondary event sequences to air simply and with confidence, and to give programming a unique and memorable look.
"Enhanced control of the Presmaster/Imagestore continues OmniBus Systems' leadership in optimal control of broadcast devices through partnerships with leading hardware companies such as Miranda Technologies," said John Wadle, vice president of technology at OmniBus Systems. "Together we're able to provide broadcast clients with the advanced graphics management functionality they require to set themselves apart from competing stations."
OmniBus control of the combined Presmaster/Imagestore master control and branding graphics systems relies on an advanced protocol via a single connection for frame-accurate control of up to four channels. Scheduling of multiple secondary playout events for channel branding, text overlays, voice-overs, and sophisticated graphics can be performed in traffic across multiple channels and delivered seamlessly via OmniBus' Schedule Import Protocol.
"The combination of our technology and graphics management expertise with the capabilities provided by OmniBus gives customers superior flexibility and reliability in delivering visually engaging television broadcasts," said Neil Sharpe, vice president of marketing for Miranda.
The capabilities of the Presmaster/Imagestore available through OmniBus automation include fixed and animated logos, stills recall, A/B mixing, DVE sequence recall, Easyplay audio clips, virtual GPIs, DTMF tone triggering, and Easytext dynamic text insertion. Among the shared clients implementing this new control solution are Discovery Channel, Crawford Communications, Connecticut Public TV, and Ascent Media.
OmniBus maintains comprehensive technology partner programs in order to assure engineering users that their automation system integrates with advanced solutions from a wide variety of industry vendors.
