Olympus To Release C-3020 Digital Camera

Point and shoot model offers 3.2 megapixel resolution By Dave Nagel
Olympus America today announced the C-3020 Zoom digital camera. The new model, which is expected to be available later this month, offers a 3.2 megapixel resolution. The C-3020, a point and shoot camera based on the C-3000 series, will sell for $499.

According to Olympus, the C-3020 also offers a large number of "creative control" features and high picture quality in a compact design. The features of the C-3000 series incorporated into this latest model include the 3x optical zoom aspherical glass lens (f2.8-f11) with continuous 2.5x digital telephoto; six-mode flash with a slow synchro red-eye reduction mode; manual exposure adjustments; and DPOF compatibility.

New features in the C-3020 include:

  • Five Scene Program Modes;
  • USB Auto-Connect (Mac and Windows, including OS X); Noise Reduction System;
  • Custom camera settings;
  • Energy-saving circuitryforr longer battery life.

The C-3020 Zoom will be available at the end of this month for $499. It will include a 16 MB SmartMedia card, USB cable, carrying strap, lens cap and retainer cord, 4 AA alkaline batteries, Camedia Master Software 2.5, manual, QuickStart Guide and remote control.
