Olympus Intros C-5000 Digital CameraDye-sublimation printers also announced
The C-5000 Zoom is a compact, light-weight camera offering a 5.0 megapixel resolution. It includes a 3x optical zoom (plus 4x digital) with an all-glass 38 mm-114 mm lens. It offers built-in noise-reduction capabilities, a threaded ring for filters or lenses, hot shoe flash design, six preset scene modes, automatic and manual operation and TruPic image enhancement technology. The unit ships with a lithium-ion battery and charger, cables, remote and 32 MB xD-Picture Card. It will be available in October for $499.
Olympus also introduced two new photo printers, the P-10 and P-440. The P-10 is designed to produce images up to 4" x 6" in less than 45 seconds, while the P-440 delivers images up to 8" x 10" in 75 seconds. Both use dye-sublimation technology to produce continuous-tone images, and the P-440 can produce 24-bit gradations with a palette of 16.7 million colors. Both can be connected to a Mac ore PC host system or can be used to print images directly from a digital camera. The P-10 will sell for $199, while the P-440 will sell for $499.
