Old Jewel Releases Painter's Picker 1.0.2Color picker extension provides RYB color wheel, access to color schemes
Painter's Picker, which was introduced as a 1.0 release just this month, installs as an extension tot he default color picker in Mac OS X (without replacing the original). It includes an RYB color wheel, as well as an RGB wheel, and can produce various color combinations, such as complementary, split complementary, etc. It functions as an optional wheel in all applications that can access the system picker, such as all of the Macromedia MX 2004 and MX programs; Adobe After Effects and Photoshop CS (change picker to "Apple" in General Preferences); Corel Painter 8; various filters in Final Cut Pro; NewTek LightWave 7; Maxon Cinema 4D 8 and BodyPaint 2; and Curious Labs Poser 5. (These are just the applications we've tested as of this writing.) The software supports RGB and CMYK color spaces and provides the ability to select primary colors interactively through the color wheel or through HSB sliders.
The new 1.0.2 update fixes a compatibility issue with BBEdit. In addition, the 1.0.2 update incorporates changes from the 1.0.1 version, which was released last week. A complete list of changes and features is available on Old Jewel's Web site.
Painter's Picker is available now as shareware for a fee of $13.85. For more information, visit http://www.oldjewelsoftware.com.
