Ohio judge to rule on sale of 'MASH' hot dog diner

Sale of 'M.A.S.H' hot dog eatery in Ohio judge's hands; hearing comes after theft charge By The Associated Press

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) ' The sale of a hot dog eatery made famous on TV's "M.A.S.H." is being decided by a judge in Ohio who heard arguments a day after the founder's grandson was charged with stealing from the family business.

The judge said Thursday that he'll decide soon on whether to finalize a deal transferring ownership of Tony Packo's Inc. to a private restaurant group in Toledo.

The founder's grandson, who currently is executive vice president of Tony Packo's, is poised to play a major role in the new ownership company if the judge approves the sale.

But a grand jury Wednesday indicted Tony Packo III on aggravated theft charges. Prosecutors say he stole more than $100,000. His lawyer has said he hasn't seen any details about what led to the charges.
