OWC Ships 200 GB FireWire Drive

Pricing revamped across Mercury Elite line By Dave Nagel
Other World Computing has shipped three new models in its Mercury Elite line of external FireWire hard drives. The new models range from 120 GB to 200 GB and come with 8 MB cache. Pricing on the Mercury drives has also been revamped.

The new models in the lineup include 200 GB, 180 GB and 120 GB. All offer an 8 MB cache and run at 7,200 RPM. According to OWC, the increased cache improves data transfer in both burst and sustained modes. The new models measure 1.5" x 9" x 5.5" and weigh less than 3 pounds. All are plug and play with Macintosh and Windows systems that support FireWire.

The 200 GB model sells for $499.99. The 180 GB model sells for $449.99. And the 120 GB model sells for $292.99. For more information, visit http://www.macsales.com.
