Nvidia GeForce 2 MX Now Standard on All G4s

Card supports dual displays with TwinView technology By Dave Nagel
Apple has made Nvidia's GeForce 2 MX standard across its line of G4 desktops as of today. The new lineup includes the low-end 733 MHz model, a midrange 867 MHz model and a top-end dual-processor 800 MHz machine.

This is the first time that Nvidia's GeForce2 MX is being offered on all standard retail configurations of Power Mac G4, including dual monitor support via TwinView. TwinView allows users to expand their desktops with multiple displays. Various combinations of multiple monitors, flat panels and TVs can be connected to a single GeForce2 MX GPU. TwinView even supports two independent digital flat panels.

This also marks the first line of Power Macs to come with dual-monitor hardware built in and the first time dual digital displays have been supported on a single card.

Based on the GeForce2 architecture, the GeForce2 MX GPU with TwinView supports resolutions as high as 2,048 x 1,536 in 32-bit color on a primary display screen. It delivers 25 million sustained triangles per second and 800 million texels per second.
