No cause yet for fire at Calif. home for disabledCause of fatal fire at Calif. home for disabled not yet known; victims' names released
MARINA, Calif. (AP) ' Police have revealed the identities of the five people who died in a fire at a California home for the disabled.
The victims of Saturday's blaze ' four women and one man ' were all in their 20s. Authorities in Marina, a small city in Monterey County, did not disclose how they died.
The fire that began in a front bedroom at Mt. Carmel Adult Residential Facility also left one resident ' an unidentified 22-year-old man ' hospitalized. His injuries also were not disclosed.
Police said Monday the cause is under investigation but that there is no indication it was arson. Investigators say the four-bedroom house was equipped with working smoke detectors.
The victims were identified as 21-year-old John Hernandez, 26-year-old Rubicella Ramirez, 24-year-old Monica Calderon and Janette Navarro and Mary Morales, both 22.
