Nitrous Goes Behind The Scenes To Edit On Demand Programming of Bon Jovis North American Concert TourCrafted a no holds barred look inside one of the most exciting rock and roll tours (March 23, 2006)
Nitrous (www.nitrous.tv) lent its creative editorial, design and audio expertise to editing 10 installments of a behind-the-scenes look at Bon Jovi on their North American ?Sprint Presents Have a Nice Day Tour for Comcast On Demand and Comcast.net.
Nitrous owner and editor, Paul C. Rosen, along with senior editor, Tim Mullen, crafted a no holds barred look inside one of the most exciting rock and roll tours to make its way across America over the past year.
Building on its extensive music offerings and tradition of delivering content in new, integrated and unique ways, Comcast is offering its customers a unique insight into what happens during a concert tour and how the show comes to be.
Freelance producer Deidre Dod traveled with the band for more than twelve weeks shooting every aspect of the tour using a mini DV cam. Dod brought the project to Nitrous and hired writer Mark Cerulli to write the script for the 10 separate episodes.
Fans access the programming online and On Demand, enabling them to keep up with the band and decide for themselves how they prefer to receive the music content. Comcast customers are able to access content such as:
? Bon Jovi gearing up backstage for the first show in Des Moines, Iowa
? Footage of the stage crew as they prepare for the first show in Des Moines, offering an exciting glimpse of how a tour comes to life
? A private ?stripped down performance for military personnel at the Fort Monmouth army base right near Jon Bon Jovis hometown
? First-ever look at the band filming the video for ?Who Says You Cant Go Home Again, the second single off their album
? Making of the video for ?Welcome to Wherever You Are
? And much more as the ?Sprint Presents Have a Nice Day Tour winds through North America
?The biggest challenge was whittling down six hours of footage per episode to an eight to 12 minute piece, said Rosen. ?These pieces could have gone a half hour or more, thats how much great footage we had?they (episodes) sustain themselves really well.
The programs were edited using Avids Unity 8 Terabyte Central Storage System, Avid Symphony and the Avid Media Composer Adrenaline. Nitrous also provided all of the graphics content using After Effects. Sound design and mixing were completed in-house by Serge Ossoguine of SergeAudio.
This is the first time that Comcast has partnered with a rock artist to offer exclusive integrated content, said Rosen. ?We were happy to be involved with this ground breaking project that should live on for many months to come.
