New York City production rental house Keslow Television (KTV), just added two Fujinon HA13x4.5BERM wide-angle ENG-style lenses to its equipment inventory. With an extensive selection of Fujinon lenses, KTV has experienced a growing demand for HD specific optics from sports and live event production clients in the past year.

The versatility of Fujinons wide-angle telephoto lenses was the key factor in Keslow Televisions selection. ?The requirement for HD acquisition has become more prevalent in every area of television production, and particularly in sports, said James Palmer, Vice President and General Manager, Keslow Television. ?For KTV, the HA13x4.5BERM offers a natural balance between cost and performance.

KTV wanted to stay up to date with its customers, many of whom are replacing their existing wide-angle SD lenses, with newer wide-angle HD lenses. Since acquiring their first HA13x4.5BERM lenses last summer, KTV has rented the lenses to mobile production companies and network television sports programs for last seasons Major League Baseball coverage, as well as for the current NFL and NHL seasons.

KTVs customers have been giving the new lenses high marks, citing a dramatically improved image quality. ?Our customers simply want a lens that looks fantastic when working in the HD medium, added Palmer ?These lenses give pristine, beautiful images, and the transition for camera operators has been transparent.

?Weve always had an exceptional relationship with Fujinon, Palmer continued. ?They offer great sales and technical support. The bottom line is, theyve always been there for us. They clearly stand behind their products and their customers.

The HA13x4.5BERM is a 2/3-inch format wide-angle lens with the widest angle in the market 4.5mm with a 93.6-degree horizontal field of view. It also comes with extender manual focus servo zoom. The lens offers the precise focusing and superior optical quality demanded for HD applications but with the durability and lightweight expected by professionals who regularly shoot in the field.

?We always stay on top of the latest developments in the SD to HD transition, and were very happy to meet Kelsow Televisions need for top-of-the-line HD lenses, said Dave Waddell, Marketing Manager, Fujinon. ?The HA13x4.5 BERM contains the widest angle available, making it ideal for live event and sports coverage.
