New TapForInfo iPhone App for Remembering Billboards and Other Advertisements Now Available for Free Download

  (February 01, 2012)

Grand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) February 01, 2012

A free new TapForInfo mobile app for the iPhone is now available that is designed for users to easily see more information about a billboard or advertisement. Additional smartphone support coming soon.

When users see the TapForInfo logo on an advertisement, they can tap the button in the app to see related information either immediately or later. TapForInfo gives advertisers direct control of the content that can be changed anytime. Users can get better information directly from the advertiser with a tap of a button rather than trying to write down a web address, phone number or using a search engine that may return invalid or outdated information. Information returned to the app can include videos, photos, PDFs, driving directions and contact info related to the advertisement. TapForInfo can be used for billboards, brochures, business cards, products, landmarks and many other uses. The native iPhone app allows TapForInfo to integrate into the iPhone calendar and contacts. This is useful for saving upcoming events and contact information of an advertisement.

Billboard advertisements may now have a retention rate up to 100% since users are able to look at the information anytime without forgetting by the time they arrive home. Advertisers can also see how many people are interested in their advertisement for metrics. Pricing for advertisers is low to setup a sign with TapForInfo while it is free for end users to view all signs. TapForInfo is currently offering free signs for a year for advertisers who signup by May 1, 2012 along with actively pursuing partnerships with billboard companies.

We think using our method of advertising will simplify the process for everyone, said Shannon Oudman, CEO of TapForInfo. With a tap of a button, users can get information directly from the advertiser without wasting time searching on the Internet or writing down a web address. We found our method much easier than trying to remember a web URL or phone number as we passed billboards and businesses.

To address the concerns of drivers using the app, TapForInfo is working with car companies to use hands free activation. When drivers notice the TapForInfo logo on a billboard, the driver just says tap for info without having to read the entire phone number or website on the billboard. The hands free technology used with TapForInfo should prove to be safer than a driver trying to read the entire billboard while driving. The TapForInfo app can be activated within a couple minutes of seeing the billboard giving users time to mark the sign for later viewing. For drivers that do not have the hands free option, only passengers should use the app.
