New Homes, New Jobs

(May 03, 2012)

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 05/03/12 -- If your job search consists of looking for the latest construction jobs you'll be well aware of the impact building new homes has on the job market.

If homebuilders continue to develop new projects up and down the country, it increases the prospect of thousands of jobs in the construction industry being created throughout the UK.

In cities like Peterborough, for example, where plans have been put in place to build 20,000 homes in and around the city by 2026(1) there is huge scope to greatly improve the job prospects in the area. Now could be the time to widen your job search to include Peterborough jobs.

Boost to the economy

Earlier this year the Prime Minister reinforced his stance that one of the best ways to boost economic growth and get people working is through building new homes.

By constructing new homes and employing local builders and sub-contractors much needed new jobs can instantly be created. Once people move into the homes they are also likely to spend their money locally which will potentially deliver a much needed boost to local economies too.
