New Graphite Screens Series RP Creates Vivid Black Levels

Helps bright lumen projectors retain black levels (October 26, 2001)
Stewart Filmscreen applied the same conceptual design of the GrayHawk (Stewart's most popular front projection screen) to rear projection. These specially formulated anti-hotspotting screens are engineered to optimize digital projectors creating bright, clear images and deep, rich black levels.

With the advent of the now widely available high lumen light projectors, the role of the projection screen has dramatically changed. Digital projectors now create extreme image brightness without the help of a gain white screen. The end result is bright images with very poor black levels and contrast. Projectors do not project black. The screen itself creates the black level.

The Graphite screen series utilizes a specially formulated diffusion surface layer fused on an elite acrylic substrate. Images projected on the Graphite screens have extreme black and white dynamic ranges. These innovated gray-based screens actually absorb backscatter.

The end result encompasses high contrast, bright vivid images with very deep black levels and shadow detailing. Even in ambient light, the Graphite series will continue to uphold the fidelity of the image.

A full line of various gains and contrast levels is now available. Standard maximum size is 6' x 10'. Larger sizes are available upon request. The Graphite series is available in all rigid frames.
