New Foundation Helps Families Forge A Path Through The Maze Of Childhood Cancer(February 14, 2012)
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) February 14, 2012
The Purple Society, a 501c3 charitable organization, launched to help connect families of childhood cancer patients worldwide with resources, hope and inspiration while raising money to fund private cancer studies.
Founded by Anthony and Suzann Conti, parents of a child lost to a rare brain tumor, The Purple Societys goal is to help provide resources and much-needed information to families fighting the disease.
Sometimes, during our greatest time of need we have the very thing that someone else needsexperience, said Anthony Conti. The launch of the Purple Society is the culmination of two-and-a-half years of my own research from the first day our daughter was diagnosed with cancer.
In their 2+-year battle to seek the best treatment available for their 14-year-old daughter, Nitalia, the Contis saw the value in sharing what they learned along the way with families new to the disease.
We created The Purple Society in part as a tribute to our daughter, and as an information hub to families of children with cancer, said Suzann Conti. There are so many questions; so many decisions to make. Much of what we learned came directly from the families who touched our lives along this heart-wrenching journey.
At the heart of The Purple Society is a sophisticated online network developed by Anthony Conti which provides valuable information about clinical trials, treatment facilities, international studies and hope to those who need it most. The network also allows members to keep in touch with loved ones through familiar social networking tools like blogs, private messaging, event scheduling, image and video hosting, as well as faith-based fellowship programs. Currently in development, iPad, iPhone and Droid Apps will be free to download from their respective app stores as well as from The Purple Society website http://www.werpurple.org.
Site membership is always free, and The Purple Societys secure donation solution allows 100 percent of all donations to reach their intended purpose. To keep information pure, the site is funded privately and will not accept advertising or sponsorships.
Anyone whose child has been diagnosed with any form of childhood cancer is invited to join The Society by signing up at werpurple.org. Friends of the family and members of the religious, medical and business communities are also encouraged to join to become potentially valuable resources for member families.
