New C2-7300 HDTV Processor Offered From TV OneHD video processor with full HD-SDI audio embedding and extraction, supporting up, down and cross conversion (March 28, 2006)
TV Ones new C2-7300 multi-format, dual-channel HD video processor follows the award winning C2-7200 introduced at NAB 2005 and adds full HD-SDI multi-channel audio processing. The new C2-7300 was created solely to address the evolving needs of the broadcast market and supports virtually every bidirectional analog-to-HDTV conversion imaginable, all within a compact 1 RU enclosure.
The C2-7300 provides 32 channels of stereo audio processing, which allows for simultaneous embedding of 8 stereo audio channels for each of the two HD-SDI inputs and extraction of 8 stereo audio channels from each of the two independent HD-SDI outputs. These audio channels are available in the AES3-id format on the rear panel of the unit via a pair of HD-44 connectors. An optional A2-7301 conversion unit is available to convert from AES3-id to standard AES-3 on XLR connectors. Other conversion units will be introduced to accommodate other audio formats, such as low impedance balanced analog. All delay compensation and balancing is controlled within the C2-7300. Thanks to highly flexible internal audio routing, the C2-7300s 32 stereo channels (16 in and 16 out) are not restricted for use within the HD-SDI signal, but can be assigned to any of the other composite, component, S-Video, analog RGBHV, or DVI inputs and outputs.
The C2-7300 adds all this audio processing power to the video processing capability found in TV Ones C2-7200. Beyond its versatility in converting between analog and HD-SDI, the C2-7300 additionally houses the power of many other components ranging from a high-definition video scaler and multi-format seamless switcher to a dual-window picture-in-a-picture device, chroma/luma keyer, aspect ratio converter, logo inserter and much more.
Serving as the central force behind this level of functionality are two completely independent scaling engines and two video mixers which utilize TV One's proprietary CORIO2 technology. True 4:4:4 processing provides full-bandwidth color for precise keying, including soft keys. The device has 11 inputs accommodating multiple HD-SDI, SD-SDI, DVI, YPbPr, RGBHV, RGBS, RGsB, YCbCr, composite and S-Video signals, as well as all HDTV formats and any PC resolution up to 2048x2048, not just some pre-defined ones. All of these formats may be freely mixed within the unit via cut, fade or special effect transitions. The two independent output channels each offer SDI (SD or HD), DVI-I, any RGB format and CV and SV. Armed with the ability to alter the aspect ratio of any input, the unit also allows different SDTV and HDTV images to be intermixed in any operating mode.
The secret behind the flexibility of TV One's CORIO2 circuitry is rooted in a dynamically reprogrammable conversion engine that transcends the fixed capabilities of third-party chip sets commonly used as the central building blocks in traditional video processors.
Built for broadcast applications but equally at home at small or large venue staged events or multimedia presentations, the C2-7300 will begin shipping in the summer of 2006. User-friendly with 10 fully-programmable front panel buttons and a dedicated shift button used to control input selection and presets, the device can be remotely controlled via an RS-232 or IP interface. A Windows control panel is included and the optional CC-300 Hardware Control Panel provides the look and feel of a production switcher. Like all other CORIO2-based products, firmware updates can be downloaded for the C2-7300 from TV One's website.
See the debut of the C2-7300 at TV Ones NAB Booth, number C347.
The suggested retail price for the C2-7300 is $15,500.
