New 1 GHz Macintosh G4 Tower UnveiledNew line gets dual display support, Nvidia GeForce4 MX graphics
The new dual 1 GHz G4 and the 933 MHz model are the first model to sport the brand new Nvidia GeForce4 MX graphics card. The GeForce4 MX includes 64 MB of DDR SDRAM and is able to generate 1.1 billion textured pixels per second. All of the new G4s support multiple displays. The 800 MHz model includes the ATI Radeon 7500. In addition, the dual 1 GHz and 933 MHz models include 2 MB of DDR backside level-3 cache.
The dual 1 GHz model sells for $2,999 and includes 256 KB onchip level-2 cache, 2 MB DDR backside level-3 cache per processor, 512 MB PC133 SDRAM, Nvidia GeForce4 MX in a 4x AGP slot, 80 GB Ultra ATA/66 drive and the SuperDrive combo drive.
The 933 MHz model, at $2,299, includes 256 KB onchip level-2 cache and 2 MB of DDR level-3 cache, 256 MB PC133 SDRAM, Nvidia GeForce4 MX card, 60 GB Ultra ATA/66 drive and the SuperDrive.
The 800 MHz model starts at $1,599 and includes 256 KB onchip level-2 cache, 256 MB PC133 SDRAM, ATI Radeon 7500 with 32 MB DDR SDRAM in a 4x AGP slot, a 40 GB Ultra ATA/66 hard drive and a CD-RW drive.
