NetRadio Names Cary L. Deacon to Head No.1 Music Webcaster

NetRadio Corporation, a media company that is an online distributor of originally programmed audio entertainment through its Web site www.netradio.com, announced the appointment of Cary L. Deacon as president and chief executive officer. Deacon succeeds Eric Paulson, who has served as interim CEO. Paulson will remain as chairman of the company.

"We are obviously excited about tapping into Mr. Deacon's depth of experience and leadership, especially his proven track record of developing and building strategic alliances to fuel growth," commented Eric Paulson. "Cary's twenty-six years of marketing and operating experience in the Cable TV and retail industry are a perfect fit for us as we continue to move NetRadio into new markets."


Prior to joining NetRadio, Mr. Deacon served as president and chief operating officer of SkyMall where he was recruited by SkyMall's board of Directors and Chairman to assist the then ailing company to return to profitability and find a strategic investor or transaction. Under Mr. Deacon's direction, SkyMall recorded three concecutive profitable quarters and the Company was successfully sold. Mr. Deacon served as President of the cable and satellite broadcasting company, ValueVision International, Inc, which owns and operates the ShopNBC network. Mr. Deacon also was President and COO of Saffer Advertising. His experience also includes senior executive positions at Macy's, Marketing Advocates, Montgomery Ward and Company, and the Hudson's Bay Company.

"NetRadio has the best content and programming talent in the market, and I'm looking forward to working with the NetRadio team to deliver content to people and advertisers when and where they want it," said Mr. Deacon. "Music is such an integral part of everyone's life, and it's exciting that we not only have the programming to meet almost everyone's musical tastes, but also the capability to deliver the music and sponsor messages in so many different ways. We will also be exploring many content distribution channels to expand our revenue base."
