NeoMagic to Demo New Applications for Mobile Phones

MiMagic 6+ product's portfolio of capabilities (February 08, 2006)

NeoMagic Corporation announced today new partners and demonstrations of key solutions for their flagship product MiMagic 6+ at Booth #D152 at the 3GSM World Congress trade event in Barcelona, Spain.

NeoMagic will be demonstrating customer-ready solutions for the three newest and most exciting features being implemented in mobile phones -- Digital Mobile TV, Voice Over IP (VoIP), and real-time Global Positioning System (GPS) -- all running on one device, NeoMagic's flagship product MiMagic 6+. This new demonstrated capability rounds out the MiMagic 6+ product's portfolio of capabilities, including digital still camera, video camcorder, audio/video player and 3D gaming. With the unique high performance multimedia engine on the MiMagic 6+, phone designers may add these new features to their phones without compromising power consumption, or system cost.

"3GSM provides NeoMagic a perfect venue to demonstrate its leadership in the mobile solution arena", said Jeff Blanc, VP Worldwide Sales and Corporate Communications. "We believe delivering the capability for phone designers to add the top three 'killer features' like TV, VoIP, and GPS for mobile phones and other mobile handheld devices gives us an edge in the market. We're pleased we can demonstrate the immediate availability of these application solutions and announce new partnerships."

Solutions to be demonstrated by NeoMagic at the Congress include:
    Digital Mobile TV:
-- Demonstration of a commercially launched mobile TV solution
implementing Digital Media Broadcast (DMB) transmission reception (over
DAB transmissions). A version of the transmission and reception
solution is currently field-deployed in live broadcasts, and is
suitable for mobile TV services in various broadcast regions. The
system uses Microsoft's Windows Media video, audio, and DRM as the
digital media format. Additional support for DVB-H will be available to
       customers this quarter.
-- Demonstration of reception and display of ISDB-T transmissions using a
front-end receiver and demodulator from ALPS Electric Co. Ltd. of
Japan. Developed by NeoMagic, the ISDB-T solution supports H.264 video
decode, and High Efficiency-Advanced Audio Codec (AAC+) audio formats.
    Voice Over IP (VoIP):
-- A commercial grade, SIP-based voice telephony solution developed in
conjunction with Hellosoft. The standards-based solution can make phone
calls to all telephones through commercial carrier-grade broadband
       telephony service providers.
    Global Positioning System (GPS)
    -- Demonstrating a high sensitivity, real-time tracking software-defined
GPS solution. The solution shows high performance GPS for mobile phones
and positioning devices, running turn-by-turn automobile navigation.
This low power platform can be added to mobile devices at low cost.
    Camera, Video, and Gaming
-- Real-time Motion Stabilization suitable for video camcorder shake
-- Audio/Video recording "Camcorder" function using MPEG-4 recording and
       AMR audio
-- Video playback using MPEG-4, H.264, and DIVX video with AMR, AAC, or
       MP3 audio
    -- Digital Still Camera functionality
    -- 3D game demonstration
