Need to Learn More Patience? WinWinApps Launches an App for That

  (October 28, 2011)

Burlington, VT (PRWEB) October 28, 2011

Most people would agree, Patience is a virtue, and most would probably also agree that its a virtue they need to work on. But developing a patient attitude in challenging situations is a life skill that takes time and conscious effort to fully develop. WinWinApps unveils Patience an iPhone and iPad app designed to help individuals test and develop their patience.

The app offers users a fun and interactive way to become more aware of their general level of patience in situations that they specifically find frustrating and challenging. Heres how it works:

  • Once the app is downloaded to the device, users who run into a situation in which they need to exercise patience open the app and are prompted to enter the patience-testing situation they currently find themselves facing. The home screen of the app keeps track of current and past situations, and summarizes a history of successes and failures.
  • Users answer the phrase and question, There is something you want to do now, but you know you should wait. What is it?

  • Patience then asks, How long can you wait? Users enter the amount of time they think they can successfully hold out from a few minutes to days. At this point, the apps Make me work harder function can be turned on to increase the amount of time the user must wait by adding anywhere from one to 30 percent more time to the goal.
  • Users can also choose to turn to their social networks for support in exercising their patience. For this purpose, the app features a Share your intention function, which, when activated, allows the user to publish their activity to their Facebook and Twitter pages.
  • Once the action, timeframe and share parameters have been set, Patience begins a countdown. When the allocated time expires, the app prompts users to track their success or failure by asking, Your test of patience is complete. Did you make it?
  • Users select yes or no and Patience records the action in either the resisted or irresistible portion of the apps home screen. Successes and failures will be posted to the social networks of users that have activated the share feature.

Anna Palmer, CEO of WinWInApps, was inspired to create Patience based on her own experiences. Like so many, I struggle with impulse control. For me, sharing my intentions to hold off on devouring an entire block of cheese, for example, helps me hold myself accountable and wait until that moment has passed. Then when I succeed, I can share that small moment of victory with my friends."

Available through the iTunes store (, the app is available for free to download.
