NaviSite Launches NaviCloud Intelligent StorageKey Component for BCDR and Managing Big Data in the Cloud (May 07, 2012)
LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 05/07/12 -- INTEROP 2012 - NaviSite, Inc., a premier provider of enterprise-class hosting, managed application, managed messaging and managed cloud services, today introduced NaviCloud Intelligent Storage (NCIS) that enables enterprises to store, manage, and protect distributed, unstructured content with a flexible and scalable solution. NCIS offers IT an easy to manage, secure and reliable managed cloud storage solution that complements existing storage and retention requirements while also addressing several new business needs around mobility and on-demand storage. NaviSite will be showcasing the new solution at Interop 2012 in Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay, May 8-10, at booth #915.
According to the February 2012 Forrester Research, Inc. report Top Ten Storage Predictions for I&O Professionals by Vanessa Alvarez and Andrew Reichman, storage represented an average of 15% of the total IT budget in 2011 which means organizations will need to look at all their options before making huge investments in costly infrastructure. According to the report, in 2012,"Cloud storage becomes a viable enterprise option."
Leveraging the EMC Atmos cloud storage platform, NCIS allows NaviSite to offer:
- Storage-as-a-Service: Scalable, pay-per-use cloud storage helps IT manage massive data growth and storage budget. Customers may scale up or down dynamically.
- Mobile File Share and Endpoint backup: Secure end user data portability and access from anywhere in the world and from any compatible device.
- Archival Storage and Recovery: Eliminate the need for forklift backup upgrades or replacement by connecting existing backup platform to NCIS for long term backup and archiving.
- Network Attached Storage (NAS) Extension: Archive existing file systems in a manner that allows for longer use of legacy systems.
