Native Updates Reaktor

Version 4.01 gets Audio Unit support By Dave Nagel
Six days after the full release of Reaktor 4, Native Instruments has released an update to the audio production software. The new version (4.01) offers several enhancements and support for Mac OS X Audio Units. It's available as a free download for current users.

Reaktor 4, the latest release of Native's flagship software synth, sampler and effects generator, gains support for Mac OS X, a new library, graphical sample mapping, snapshot morphing and randomization. It also receives an integrated browser with drag and drop support, improved VST support, redesigned interface, improved oscillators from the Pro-53 and several new modules. And it allows users to generate their own sound machines.

The company was not specific about what the new version offers, saying it includes several enhancements and minor bug fixes, as well as Audio Unit support in Mac OS X. But Native did say it recommends the update for all users, Mac and WIndows. In order to download the new version, users must be registered with Native Instruments.

Reaktor 4.01 is available now for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows as a free download for current users. The full version sells for $499. For more information, visit or visit the (much faster) download page at
