Native Instruments Ships VokatorReaktor 4 coming May 9
Vokator, which Native bills as a "virtual sound fusion laboratory," is a vocoder that incorporates a synthesizer and granular sampler. Its FFT spectral engine uses 1,024 frequency bands and allows for combining pairs of vocoding channels. It includes more than 400 presets and about 300 MB of samples. Supported interfaces include VST 2.0, MAS, Audio Units, DXi II, ASIO, Soundmanager, CoreAudio, DirectSound and OMS. Vokator is available now for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows for $299.
Native now also says Reaktor 4 and Reaktor Session will be shipping out to stores May 9. Reaktor 4 is a core engine that allows users to to design and build their own instruments, samplers, effects and sound design tools. The new version gains new modules and interface elements, an integrated browser, graphical sample mapping and new preset functions. It also gains support for Mac OS X. Reaktor Session is a collection of studio tools and virtual instruments for music production, including synthesizers, groove machines, samplers and live tools and effects.
