Native Instruments Releases Pro-53 for Mac OS XNew version supports Audio Units, VST 2, RTAS
The Pro-53 is a virtual analog software synth fashioned after the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5. It includes a high-pass filter mode, invertible filter envelope and a reworked control surface. The new version adds support for Mac OS X and WIndows XP; COre Audio and Core MIDI on Mac OS X; Audio Units, RTAS and VST 2 on Mac OS X; and RTAS on Windows. The new version can be run as a standalone application or as a plugin with Pro Tools, Logic, Digital Performer and Cubase SX and Nuendo on Mac OS X and Pro Tools on Windows. Legacy interfaces continue to be supported, including FreeMIDI on Mac OS 9.
The Pro-53 update is available now free for registered users who purchased the software after Aug. 15. Paid updates are available for $29. The CD-ROM version will be available in January for $19 for those who purchased the software within the grace period (after Aug. 15) and $49 for those who purchased prior to the grace period.
