Native Instruments Reaktor 4 Gets Mac OS X Support

NI also shows off Vokator, Intakt, Kompakt and Reaktor Session By Dave Nagel
Native Instruments has introduced five new audio software suites at the NAMM show taking place in Anaheim, Calif. The new offerings include a Mac OS X version of Reaktor, as well as four completely new products: Vokator, Intakt, Reaktor Session and Kompakt.

Reaktor 4, the latest release of Native's flagship software synth, sampler and effects generator, gains support for Mac OS X, a new library, graphical sample mapping, snapshot morphing and randomization. It also receives an integrated browser with drag and drop support, improved VST support, redesigned interface, improved oscillators from the Pro-53 and several new modules.

Reaktor Session is a collection of Studio Tools and virtual instruments built on the same audio engine as Reaktore 4. It includes synths, samplers, groove machines, live tools and effects with thousands of presets. It works standalone (with ASIO and Core Audio support), as well as VST 2.0, Audio Units (Mac OS X) and DXi (WIndows).

Vokator is a vocoder based around a high-resolution FFT spectral engine. It's also a synthesizer, granular sampler and "virtual sound-fusion laboratory." It uses 1,024 bands and has a fully configurable design. It's both an effect plugin and a vocoder-based synthesizer with dual-oscillator design and dynamic preset morphing.

Intakt is a new sampler designed specifically for rhythmic loop playback and manipulation. It includes tempo manipulation, dedicated effects and a loop library by Zero-G. It can also import WAV, AIFF, REX1, REX2, Gigasampler, Akai, HALion, EXS, Battery and Kontakt files.

Finally, Kompakt is a new sampler that includes compatibility with most major sample formats and also includes a library of samples from Zero-G and East West. It offers multi-mode filters, envelopes and LFOs and includes integrated reverb, chorus and delay effects.

Native hasn't yet provided details on pricing or availability for any of its new products. None are yet available in the company's online store. We'll provide more information when it becomes available. For more information on the products themselves, visit
