Napera Networks Provides Localized User Experience in French, German and Spanish

New Release Also Provides IT Managers With Greater Access Controls Over Guest and Quarantined Users and Expands Remote Access VPN to 250 Users (January 14, 2009)

SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/14/09 -- Napera Networks ( today announced a new version of the software that powers its network access control solution, expanding its localization capability, VPN capacity and access controls for guest and quarantined users. These latest features available with the Napera N24 appliance continue to build on Napera's commitment to simplifying the end user and management experience while optimizing network security and control. Napera enables customers to use a single network security product to control access and enforce identity for all devices and users, whether they are working remotely or on the local area network, across wired and wireless environments.

Localization: As part of Napera's global reach, this release localizes the end user portal in French, German and Spanish, adding to the existing English and Japanese localizations. Napera has established distribution partnerships throughout Europe and Latin America, where this localization will benefit customers.

Remote Access VPN: Napera increased the capacity of its built-in remote access VPN, which can now handle up to 25 concurrent sessions or 250 total users. The Napera N24 includes a built in firewall, VPN, and DHCP server, removing the need for IT managers to deploy separate network appliances or servers in small and branch offices.

User Traffic Rules: On the management front, Napera has expanded the ability of administrators to customize Guest and Quarantine traffic rules. This feature is designed specifically for smaller companies who are using a single gateway for both VPN and Internet access, or companies who need to provide quarantined users access to specific internal resources. With this feature, IT administrators can configure rules ensuring users are not able to access the VPN within the gateway but can get to the Internet.

"With malware like Conficker and W32/Downadup spreading rapidly across customer networks, keeping PCs up to date and ensuring those computers are healthy before network access is more important than ever," said Todd Hooper, Founder and CEO, Napera Networks. "Our goal with this latest release is to make the Napera N24 even easier to use and to deploy in a wide variety of network configurations in order to help IT staff get ahead of the malware threat and keep their networks secure."

The Napera network access control product differentiates itself in the market with its software as a service model that includes the Napera N24 appliance and management service. Designed for the smaller enterprise, Napera uniquely addresses computer health for Windows and Macintosh, identity enforcement, and guest access in a single solution. Napera limits the spread of malware by making sure only up to date computers can obtain access and helps improve the overall security profile of a company's network.

The Napera solution with all of the new features is available immediately through Napera's worldwide channel of distributors, value added resellers, system integrators and other partners. All current Napera customers will receive the upgrade to version 1.4 during January as part of their subscription. The Napera N24 appliance is available for MSRD$3,495.00, which includes the first year subscription to the online service and one-year hardware and software maintenance.
