NVISION Supplies Multiformat Routers to Tokyo Post House

Imagica-Ginza selects systems to handle both analog and digital signals (November 03, 2004)

Imagica Ginza, one of Japan's largest post-production houses, recently installed a pair of NV5128 Multiformat Routers, an NV3128 Machine Control Router and an NV9000 Router Control System. According to Sheen Hosoda, president of Totsu International, NVISION's Japanese representative, one NV5128 Router handles 32x32 HD, 64x64 SD and 16x16 analog video channels, while the second is configured for 64x64 AES-format digital audio, 16x16 analog audio and 16x32 timecode I/Os. The NV3128 Machine Control Router handles 64x64 data channels.

"Imagica specified the NV5128 Multiformat Router because it is compact and able to accommodate various signal formats in one frame," Hosoda says. "Four non-linear edit bays, an audio sweetening room and a copy room need to access any of the facility's 15 video recorders located in a central machine room. These new video, audio and machine-control routers will allow every VCR to be accessed by each location."

"The post facility appreciated the NV5128 router's internal A/D and D/A converters that can handle both analog and digital signals for the same destination," Hosoda continues."

"We are delighted that within just a few months of being appointed our new Japanese distributor, Totsu International secured such a prestigious order from one of Tokyo's most popular post facilities," says International Marketing Manager Dave Edmonds. "Totsu International is a company that has an outstanding reputation within the territory, and a wide range of experience selling routers and control systems."
