NI Updates Spektral Delay

New version gains Mac OS X support By Dave Nagel
Native Instruments has released an update for Spektral Delay, a real-time audio effects processor. The new version adds compatibility with Mac OS X, the last of Native's software line to make the transition. Spektral Delay is available now for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows.

Spektral Delay is a real-time Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) based effects processor that produces delay effects by splitting up each channel of a stereo signal in up to 160 separately modifiable frequency bands. Spektral Delay runs either as a standalone application or as a plugin, with support for ASIO, Sound Manager, MME, VST and Direct Sound. The latest version adds compatibility for Mac OS X, along with CoreAudio, CoreMIDI, Audio Units, RTAS and VST 2. Supported hosts include Digidesign Pro Tools, eMagic Logic, MOTU Digital Performer and Steinberg Cubase SX and Nuendo.

Spektral Delay is available now for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows. Updates run $49, but those who purchased the software after Nov. 1 can download the update for free. The full version of Spektral Delay runs $299. For more information, visit
