NECs New VT650 is Third NEC Projector to Offer 3,000-Hour Lamp Life

1,500 ANSI lumens, $3,995 By Denise Harrison
NEC Technologies introduced the VT660, a 1,500-lumen projector that in Eco-Mode gives users 3,000 hours of lamp life. This offers as much lamp life as the VT440 and VT540, but is the brightest of the bunch at 1,500 ANSI lumens. The lamp life is 500 more lamp life hours than the companys MT1055 and MT850, which have an estimated 2,500 hours.

The VT650 is 8.5 lbs. and has NEC's VORTEX Technology Plus for enhanced color and data images and an sRGB option for realistic colors.

NECs AccuBlend means native XGA compatibility with a wide variety of computers and resolution display up to UXGA. NEC's AutoSense Technology lets VT650 users set up and adjust the projector with the touch of a button. The VT650 also has a monitor output for teachers who project while viewing an external monitor.

The VT650 will ship in January 2002. End-users purchasing the VT650 by March 31 will receive an additional $100 rebate by visiting http://vt650rebate.nectech.com and completing a rebate request form.
