NASCAR(r) Media Group Polishes Existing DIVArchive System by Adding New Apple Interface(May 12, 2009)
"Bringing DIVArchive and Apple together in a unified environment will make it easy for producers and editors working in Final Cut Pro to restore content from anywhere within the system including the datatape library," said Jeff Lowe, managing director for media and broadcast technology at NASCAR Media Group. "The flexibility of DIVArchive and our close partnership with Front Porch Digital are key to simplifying our production process and helping to secure our valuable media assets while at the same time supporting higher quality new programming by giving our staff even easier access to thousands of hours of historic clips in our archive."
DIVArchive's integration with Apple will enable editors within NASCAR Media Group's internal production group to send content to the archive or restore it for editing from their desktops all without leaving the familiar Apple environment. In addition, the new Apple interoperability retains DIVArchive's unique partial restore feature, which enables transfer of only the footage desired, regardless of how long the original source clip was, resulting in tremendous savings in both bandwidth and manpower/equipment time.
NASCAR Media Group is a rights management, content production, distribution, and entertainment company intended to expand exposure, media, and content opportunities for the entire sport of auto racing. Located in Charlotte, N.C., NASCAR Media Group is scheduled to move into its new home in the NASCAR Hall of Fame complex also in Charlotte. It serves the public relations and media industry that covers NASCAR worldwide. In 2005, NASCAR Media Group began implementation of DIVArchive to manage an archive of many thousands of hours of video, some of it dating back more than 60 years.
Front Porch Digital's DIVArchive is a combination of software and hardware components integrated to provide a turnkey content storage management solution that simplifies the process of preserving, managing, and accessing digital media content for operations of all sizes.
"The expansion of DIVArchive into the Apple environment at NASCAR Media Group illustrates its flexibility as well as its ability to adapt as the needs of a customer and its production workflow evolve," said Mike Knaisch, president and CEO of Front Porch Digital.
