NAB: Heuris Debuts DVD, HD Technologies

MPEG Power adds Kona HD support By Dave Nagel
Heuris has debuted several new HHD and DVD technologies at the NAB convention in Las Vegas this week. These include a new DVD-VR plugin for QuickTime, new professional DTV HHD compatibility with AJA's Kona cards for Mac OS X and integration with Avid|DS systems.

On the DVD-VR front, the company has announced a new version of DVD ConnexIT, an import plugin for Apple's QuickTime 6. The software now works with Panasonic's new professional-level DVD recorder--the DMR-T3040. It allows users to play discs created in Panasonic's system, as well as other systems (such as the HS2 and E30) within Apple's Movie Player.

On the DTV HD front, the company has announced that its MPEGPower Professional linne is now fullly commpatible with AJA's Kona HD card for Mac OS X. The company says that users can now assemble a full HD production suite incorporating Final Cut Pro, AJA's card and Heuris MPEG Power for less than $25,000. The software also supports JVC's D-VHS systems for HD recording, encoding and playback. And it now supports Avid's Avid|DS HD post-production system.
