NAB: AJA Intros Io FireWire Capture SystemNew unit supports Final Cut Pro 4
Io connects to a Macintosh G4 desktop or notebook through a FireWire interface. It supports component and composite analog video, SDI digital video, balanced analog audio, AES/EBU digital audio, optical audio, RS-422 machine control and genlock. ANd it was designed to complement Apple's Xserve and Xserve RAID in a rack or on a desktop.
Io is also the first device designed to take advantage of the new multi-channel audio architecture of Final Cut Pro 4 and was, according to AJA, developed in close cooperation with Apple to work with Final Cut Pro 4, which is expected to ship in June. Io will be available in the second quarter for Final Cut Pro 4 running on Mac OS X. It will sell for $2,290. For more information, visit http://www.aja.com.
