NAB 2008: Artbeats Experts

All new footage you can use including HD and SD formats By Ko Maruyama
At NAB there are many who attend to look for footage, and I couldn't really figure out why some footage vendors were in one spot, while other vendors were in another, but my favorite resource, Artbeats, was positioned nearby Adobe's and MAXON's booth, making them a very obvious vendor to visit.

While there is a massive library of both standard def and high def material at Artbeats, the company hasn't rested on its accomplishments, but has created several new clips in time for NAB 2008.  Many of the new aerial HD footage clips are Atlanta and Dallas specific, but there is also a collection of corporate jet footage that may be just what you need to give your edit a high production value feel for as little as $300 for a HD (1920x1080, progressive) clip.  The Gulfstream G-IV is a clean element that adds the classic corporate icon to any project.

Other attendees were treated to a theater full of presentations by industry professionals who talked about how they used the various footage clips in their production pipeline.   One of the usual suspects in the Artbeats booth, Steve Holmes was there to give his quick demonstration of the integration of footage within his Adobe After Effects projects.

In addition to the new footage for NAB, Artbeats also created a new ultimate resource disc which contains tutorials and footage and the showcase reel of their SD and HD footage.  You can find the clips mentioned above, and several other royalty free HD and SD footage clips online at

Steve Holmes demos his use of Artbeats to make a fire scene heat up.
