More Art You Take Apart - Digital Juice Unveils 3 New Volumes of Juice Drops Layered Photoshop® Files

(August 15, 2007)

DMN Newswire--2007-8-15--Lake Mary, FL, August 15, 2007 -- Digital Juice® announced today that it is expanding its library of Juice Drops layered Photoshop® graphics by adding 3 new volumes to its highly successful collection.  The three new titles will bring the wide-ranging collection to 55 volumes and will cover an array of different styles and themes including childhood fairy tales, fantastical creatures, and nursery rhymes; stylized versions of people, places and objects; and nostalgic, fun and kid-related imagery.

Juice Drops are a collection of royalty-free backgrounds and illustrations that are completely customizable.  Each volume contains a minimum of 25 high resolution layered images.  Artists can use the graphics flattened in their original composition or they can mix and combine layers from different backgrounds and volumes to create new and unique looks. Juice Drops layered Photoshop® files are at least 17"x11" at 300 DPI so even the smallest element is shown in great detail. Print designers can tweak, delete, rearrange, colorize, scale, mix and add layers as needed. Each Juice Drop has an average of 10-20 layered elements and most have much more than the average. Often described as "art you can take apart," Juice Drops allow artists and designers to begin every new project with beautiful and totally original source material and then customize it to fit their needs and express individual creativity. "The wonderful thing about Juice Drops is that they let you be as creative as you want to be," says Jeff Winney of Winney Design Group. "With such an extensive collection they are sure to have what you are looking for, and then some."

The 3 New Volumes include:

Volume 53: childsPLAY -- Brimming with colorful graphics and playful themes, this volume offers a variety of multi-layered images to illustrate any project requiring kid-related, nostalgic or plain old fun imagery. These images cover a wide selection of categories from cartoon animals and insects, dress-up paper dolls, toy collections and playgrounds to birthday celebrations, visions of summer camp, board games and daycare activities. The possibilities for putting these images to use are infinite. For example, users could evoke an earlier age for a rummage sale by sprinkling images of robots, construction blocks, stuffed animals and toy airplanes throughout their sign or ad layout, or they could advertise an upcoming church or school outing with scenes of sandcastles on the beach or animals at the farm.

Volume 54: jaggedEDGE -- Composed in a unique rough-edged style, all of the images in this volume represent a slice of everyday life. Whether its in the workplace, at home or at play, these renditions of objects, people and places have a look that will attract the viewers eye because of the fresh, raw strokes and subtle color combinations. Places and situations in the volume are varied a freight container ship tied up at a seaside dock, a sumptuous picnic laid out in the sunshine, a fashion show with models strutting on the catwalk and a troop of soldiers heading into battle, to name just a few. Because the illustrations are all rendered in the same graphic style, it is easier than ever to mix and match layers from one image with another. For example, a user could highlight the range of activities at a tourist spot for a :30 TV commercial or travel poster with scenes of mountain bikes, zoo safaris, shopping excursions and seaside cafes -- all unified by a similar sketchy illustration style.

Volume 55: fairyTALES -- From Cinderella to the Owl and the Pussycat, from woodland fairies to swashbuckling pirates, the subjects in this volume are rendered in a variety of styles from smooth and graphic to sketchy and rough. In some cases several stories are smoothly combined in one composition and style in order to give you even more options. Old MacDonald tends to his farm while his wife chases the Three Blind Mice, Jack climbs the Beanstalk while far below Hansel and Gretel approach the gingerbread house in the woods. In other cases, several scenes from the same story are combined. For example, we see Goldilocks tasting porridge, breaking a chair and being startled from sleep by the Three Bears. Each illustration consists of separate detailed graphic layers so mixing elements from one illustration with another is easy. The user can also turn off the foreground layers in an image and use the illustrated backgrounds as is. For example, a woodland fairy could be used to highlight a baby photo for a scrapbook while the woodland swamp in the background could be used alone to illustrate a mystery novel cover.

Digital Juice® provides a free Windows® and Mac® utility, Juicer 3, that makes it easy to browse, search, and select from any of the Juice Drops volumes.  Juicer 3 layered preview technology allows users to preview the layers within the Juicer 3 browser without having to load the full resolution file into Photoshop® to see the layers.  In addition to using the layered Photoshop® files right off the disc, Juicer 3 technology allows users to render an image from disc to hard drive into most major file formats including JPEG, PNG, TGA, TIF, PSD, and BMP.
