Monster Diversity Leadership Programs Help Match Diverse College Students With Leading Employers

Free Program Provides Practical Career Skills and Networking Opportunities (May 12, 2010)

MAYNARD, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/12/10 -- Monster Diversity Leadership Programs (DLP), a conference series created to empower and advance diverse college students as they transition from school to the workforce, today announced the extension of its summer workshop series. Through interactive two-day programs, DLP will work with thousands of diverse college students from across the country to help them cultivate essential skills for making a smooth transition into the labor market. DLP will kick off 2010 at Chapman University in Los Angeles, California, the first of nine weekend programs open to college undergraduates and graduates throughout the U.S. Of the more than 20,000 expected applicants, 2,700 students will be invited to participate in the educational series, which will include seminars about valuing, engaging and leveraging diversity, goal setting, resume writing and inclusive leadership. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with executives from Fortune 500 companies, including Platinum and Gold Sponsors such as Target, Verizon, Macy's, and Lockheed Martin.

  • August 6-8 Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore)

In addition to presentations made by leading industry professionals, DLP will be offering students who attend the program an opportunity to win exclusive scholarships. Since the DLP started in 2002, the program has awarded over $300,000 in scholarships and prizes.
