Monaco Extends Promotion with Epson

ICC profiling software one-third off By Dave Nagel
Monaco Systems is extending its deal with Epson to provide a discount on its color profiling system. The deal allows purchasers of the Epson Stylus Photo 1280 to receive a 33 percent discount on MonacoEZcolor 2, an ICC profiling application.

Under the terms of the deal, Stylus Photo 1280 owners can purchase MonacoEZcolor for $199. The deal also provides special pricing on a bundle that includes the MonacoSensor colorimeter.

MonacoEZcolor 2 is an ICC-based color management package targeted toward photographers, artists and graphic designers. It creates custom ICC profiles for monitors, scanners and printers and allows users to build, edit and apply ICC the profiles. Other features include the ability to edit printer profiles for lightness, saturation and tone; an updated interface; integrated online help; and ColorWorks, a utility for applying profiles, softproofing and printing.

The Stylus Photo 1280 is a 2,880 x 720 DPI inkjet printer. It allows users to print full bleeds (in OS 9 only right now) and supports sizes up to 13" x 44". It has a six-color ink system (CcMmYK) and uses 4 picoliter (variable) droplets.
